Pakistan, India, and Kashmir
Story aired: Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Both nations are struggling with fundamentalist and secessionist militants, even as they continue their nuclear rivalry. Ayesha Jalal is professor of history at Tufts University and a MacArthur Fellow. Her latest book is "Partisans of Allah: Jihad in South Asia."

Sugata Bose is professor of history at Harvard University. His latest book is "A Hundred Horizons: The Indian Ocean in the Age of Global Empire."
